Porting a theme & doing it together all at the same time.
So, it seems that porting windows 7 theme to windows 10 creator's update has almost become impossible, well that is, at least for most people & I say that for a reason. Fellow themer & moderator of Virtual Customs, Dark Knight, posted at the forums that after importing any & every Windows 7 theme to Windows 10 RS2, Windows Style Builder always throws an error & cannot test & hence cannot create a valid theme for creator's update.
And when pioneer themer & the person (pretty much single- handedly) responsible for us being able to theme Windows 10 at all (all credits to his Class Maps), Mr. Grim aka Mark, founder of Virtual Customs, supported this notion by confirming Dark Knight's post, I went like
WTF!!!! Really, WTF!!!
But I was importing them & applying them on the fly!! That is to say, by some weird .. I donno what.. I was & am still able to port windows 7 themes by importing them to Creator's Update without a hitch, whereas everybody else, and I mean everybody, was getting errors left & right. Go figure!! This eventually led to a team effort, me doing the initial import of the Windows 7 theme to Windows 10 & applying some fixes & then getting stuck..LOL, Mr. Grim stepping in to help me, Dark Knight fixing up some images, Nimbi, a fellow themer, moderator & friend, doing the majority of the testing & adding some fixes & scripts & what not, resulted in a few themes from Windows 7 being ported & members of VC working together to perfect these ported themes giving way to whole new thread which you can visit at the site called:
